Overview
All of Us Are Dead is a 2022 South Korean zombie apocalypse horror television series created by Lee Jae-gyu and Chun Sung-il for Netflix, based on the webtoon of the same name by Joo Dong-geun. The series is set at Hyosan High School, a high school in South Korea. A science teacher, Mr. Lee (Byung-chul Lee), creates a virus that turns humans into zombies. He is trying to protect his son, who is being bullied. The virus spreads rapidly through the school, and the students are trapped. The series follows a group of students who try to survive the zombie apocalypse: Nam On-jo (Park Ji-hu), a popular, brave girl; Lee Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young), On-jo's best friend who is in love with her; Choi Nam-ra (Cho Yi-hyun), the class president who is cold and aloof; Lee Su-hyeok (Lomon), a popular boy; and Yoon Gwi-nam (Yoo In-soo), a psychotic bully who is infected but becomes a "halfbie," a zombie with some intelligence. The series is a brutal, violent, and emotional survival drama. It explores themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the horrors of bullying. All of Us Are Dead was a massive success for Netflix, becoming one of its most-watched non-English series. A second season has been ordered.
