Overview
Die Hard 2 is a 1990 action thriller film directed by Renny Harlin, the sequel to the 1988 film Die Hard. The film stars Bruce Willis as John McClane, who is now waiting for his wife at Washington Dulles International Airport on Christmas Eve. A group of rogue military operatives, led by Colonel Stuart (William Sadler), takes over the airport's control tower and communications systems. They are trying to rescue a drug lord who is being extradited. McClane is the only one who can stop them. The film is set almost entirely in and around the airport. McClane uses his wits and his knowledge of the airport to fight the terrorists. The film features a memorable sequence where McClane fights a henchman on the wing of a plane. Die Hard 2 was a critical and commercial success, earning over $240 million worldwide. It is considered a worthy sequel to the original.
