Gotham Knights Season 2
Overview
Gotham Knights Season 1 is the first season of The CW's superhero series, set in the Batman universe. The series follows a coalition of young heroes who are forced to team up after Batman's death. The team includes Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan), the son of Batman (though this is later revealed to be a misdirection — Turner is actually the son of a villain that Batman was protecting); Duela Dent (Olivia Rose Keegan), the daughter of Harvey Dent/Two-Face, who is a chaotic and unpredictable figure; Harper Row (Fallon Smythe), a street-smart engineer; and Cullen Row (Tyler DiChiara), her brother. The team is framed for Batman's murder and must go on the run to clear their names while also protecting Gotham from the criminals who sense weakness in the power vacuum left by Batman's death. The first season follows the team as they investigate the Court of Owls, a secret organization that has been controlling Gotham for centuries, and its connection to Batman's death. The season also introduces the "Owlman," a Talon (the Court's assassin) who was created from the body of Bruce Wayne's ancestor and who becomes the season's primary antagonist. The first season ends with the team defeating the Court of Owls, clearing their names, and becoming Gotham's new protectors. The series was not renewed for a second season, ending on a cliffhanger that will not be resolved. The show was criticized for its CW-style melodrama, its inconsistent writing, and its failure to capture the tone of the Batman mythos, but it developed a small cult following among fans who appreciated its young cast and its willingness to explore lesser-known corners of the DC universe.
