Masters of the Air
Overview
Masters of the Air is a 2024 war drama television miniseries created by John Orloff for Apple TV+, based on the 2007 book of the same name by Donald L. Miller. The series is a companion to the miniseries Band of Brothers and The Pacific. The series follows the 100th Bomb Group, a B-17 bomber unit of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. The series stars Austin Butler as Major Gale "Buck" Cleven, Callum Turner as Major John "Bucky" Egan, and Anthony Boyle as Lieutenant Harry Crosby. The series follows the airmen as they fly dangerous missions over Germany, facing flak, enemy fighters, and the freezing cold. The series was a critical and commercial success, praised for its visual effects, its performances, and its realistic depiction of aerial combat. It is a limited series, so a second season is not expected.
